The METABEAM product portfolio, comprised of a METABEAM 1000 and a METABEAM 400, are compact, powerful, laser cutting systems that are designed to be accurate and easy to use. While the METABEAM product portfolio is optimized for cutting stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, and titanium, it maintains stunning performance while cutting plastics and organics as well as other non-metal cutting and engraving applications. Simple user interface and job loading software simplifies work set up and increases productivity.
The METABEAM products incorporate Coherent’s low maintenance, sealed, pulsed CO2 lasers that have fast rise time, high peak power pulse (typically 3x above the average power) and excellent beam quality for high quality, clean cutting. This pulsed, sealed laser has capabilities like a laser twice its size, is efficient and has low operating costs. The high peak power, square pulse and excellent mode means that it quickly vaporizes material and produces a clean narrow cut.
Coherent announces its newest product in the METABEAM portfolio - the METABEAM 1000 metal cutting tool - which extends the performance of the METABEAM product portfolio to the kW level.
Based on the Coherent DIAMOND E-1000 CO2 laser, the new METABEAM 1000 delivers excellent performance capabilities and flexibility, at significantly low operating costs, all in a compact footprint. The expanded 50” X 50” cutting area of the METABEAM 1000 positions it to support international sheet material sizes to address world market demand. Improved metal cutting capabilities have been achieved with this new product’s innovative approach to piercing, cutting head control and gas management optimized for 1000W power efficiencies.
METABEAM 1000 Processing Capabilities:
Fully featured, the METABEAM 1000 includes:
Optional Automatic or Manual pallet change increase productivity by allowing the machine to continue cutting while material is unloaded and loaded outside. Fully integrated to the machine’s software, the pallet changers can increase throughput and frees an operator to work on other tasks.
The optional Vision Alignment System is available and allows users to register the cutting process to the material, where compensations for scale, rotation, distortions and more can be made to ensure the accurate cutting of printed material, or re-working a part for added or missing features. The system registers to any mark, feature, hole or edge that the user specifies and is fully integrated with the machine’s software for easy control.
The METABEAM 400 is a compact laser cutting system with a cutting area of 48” x 48” (1.23m x 1.23m) and 12” (300 mm) of Z travel. It is capable of cutting stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, titanium as well as plastics and organics. METABEAM 400 Processing Capabilities:
Fully featured, the METABEAM 400 includes:
The large format cutting area can accommodate material up to 49.5” (1.26m) wide and with the Gull wing doors, the cutting chamber can be easily accessed from both sides of the machine. Deep bed with 12” (300 mm) of vertical travel means that wide range of products can be placed inside the cutting cell and processed.
