Coherent has developed a number of CO2 laser systems for use in the most demanding scientific, aerospace, semiconductor and research applications. These specialty CO2 lasers are ruggedly designed for use in the most severe environments.
Our Scientific CO2 product portfolio consists of:
EOM-10, a short-pulse Q-switched cavity-dumped laser. This RF-excited laser system delivers short-pulse (<15 ns), high pulse-repetition-frequency capability (0-100kHz) in a compact package.
GEM Select, series of frequency-tunable lasers. The GEM Select series of lasers brings unprecedented wavelength tunability between 9.2 µm and 10.8 µm, and is field-proven for use in either a laboratory or field application. Other features include PZT cavity tuning, autonomous frequency/amplitude control and a visible diode laser for easy alignment of the IR laser beam. Developed over years of testing under severe operating conditions, and designed to be user-friendly, the GEM Select lasers offer high beam quality and high stability to meet the most demanding requirements.
MID-IR, a frequency-doubled laser operating around 5 microns. The MID-IR is an RF-excited, frequency-doubled, CO2 waveguide laser system that delivers short-pulse, high pulse-repetition-frequency capability at mid-IR wavelengths (4.6 microns - 5.8 microns).
SIFIR-50, an optically pumped far-infrared (FIR) laser. Our THz laser technology utilizes many aspects of our highly reliable, sealed-resonator technology to produce compact, dependable, turn-key systems, and includes patented intellectual property. Our optically-pumped THz laser is tunable from 40 µm -1020µm (7 to 0.3 THz), consisting of a sealed-off pump laser, a frequency standard, and a THz laser cavity. The pump laser inside the SIFIR-50 features an efficient, folded resonator contained within all-metal housing.
