Along with Coherent's high-power FAP-System, the Circular Polarizing Unit (CPU) offers a complete solution for alkali-vapor optical-pumping to the enhanced-MRI and NMR Spectroscopy market. The CPU takes a randomly polarized laser beam from the fiber output of a FAP-System, and converts it into two right-circularly polarized laser beams of equal intensity. This unit is versatile, and is designed with the scientific end-user in mind. It provides the end-user the freedom to adjust the polarization of the laser light to accommodate for different magnetic field setups used in MRI and NMR. Furthermore, the end-user can fine-tune the collimation of the polarized beams, the beam waist, and the distance where the two beams overlap to maximize the optical pumping volume of the user-specific alkali vapor-cells. The optics are specifically AR-coated for the wavelength of choice for laser pumping, which includes 770nm, and 794.8nm.
