New Chameleon Compact OPO (IR wavelength extension)
Automated Ultrafast IR Wavelength Extension with Exceptional Wavelength Flexibility
The new Chameleon Compact OPO combines with the Chameleon to offer gap free tuning between 680 nm and 1600 nm, with independent tuning of the laser and OPO wavelengths to offer unrivalled flexibility in two color applications. The combined system has been optimized to facilitate imaging in the IR beyond the traditional Ti:Sapphire wavelength range with greater than 550 mW at 1100 nm.
Long wavelength tuning capability (greater than 1 micron) provides you access to a wavelength regime where less scattering enables deeper tissue imaging. Plus it allows you to excite new dyes that are becoming available for long wavelength excitation, like mCherry. If your MPE experiment asks for further extension, Chameleon OPO (Optical Parametric Oscillator) will seamlessly expand the tuning range to longer wavelengths.
The new Chameleon Compact OPO has been designed for simplicity and ease-of-use by non-laser experts, and is a black box wavelength extension. No adjustment is required during tuning and the OPO can be controlled via USB or RS232 link
The advanced crystal used in the OPO allows the user to select both the laser
wavelength and OPO wavelength independently. The OPO has two output ports - one
directly passes through a portion of the laser pump and the other is the IR
from the OPO. This design allows users to select the optimum wavelength combinations
in two color experiments and offers significantly enhanced flexibility. The
Chameleon wavelength can be varied between 740 nm and 880 nm while the OPO wavelength
can be varied between 1000 nm and 1600 nm (the OPO wavelength range will depend
on the specific laser wavelength selected).
