Coherent high power Sapphire lasers are based on the OPSL (Optically Pumped Semiconductor Laser) technology and are driving the change from legacy air cooled ion laser technology to all solid state technology since 2002. With an enabling package of 90% less space, 98 % less power consumption and heat dissipation than a comparable air cooled ion laser, Sapphire enables a new generation of instrumentation systems.
From the very beginning Sapphire has set the standard for superior performance and reliability. In the meantime more than 10.000 units are installed in the field and show outstanding reliability - a proven track record not available from any other solid state blue laser. It’s the elegance and simplicity of the OPSL design combined with advanced clean room based, robotic assisted manufacturing in PermAlign™, solder-bonded optics technology, that delivers consistent quality and reliability. Laser for laser. Instrument for instrument.
Enabled by the OPSL inherent power-scalability, the high power Sapphire is the highest power solid-state blue laser commercially available. With power levels of 100 nm, 200 nm, and 500 mW at 488 nm it surpasses other solid state blue lasers by almost an order of magnitude, enabling superior signal-to-noise ratios and shorter processing times. More than that, volume manufacturing and a large portfolio of different power levels has made Sapphire the choice for cost effectiveness and low-cost of ownership.
For Stand alone applications, an optional control box configuration makes the Sapphire laser CDRH-compliant. Please refer to the Sapphire CDRH web page for more information.
